Proprietary 3D For All!

Randall Newton writes a blog, 3D CAD News, where he covers "CAD industry news... with a bit of attitude."  It's actually great fun to see the stuff Randall writes there.  His satire skills are far more refined than mine.

This week, he was writing about the Dassault acquisition of Seemage, exposing the story that there was a bidding war between Dassault and Autodesk.  He wrote "But all's well that ends well, and now Dassault can continue to pursue its vision of proprietary 3D for all."

Proprietary 3D for all?

That's just too good.  It's spot-on in describing not just Dassault, but almost every major vendor in the CAD industry. (I can think of a few exceptions, but they're not "major" vendors.)

221552733v11_240x240_Front_Color-Black.jpgI hereby nominate "Proprietary 3D for all" as the CAD meme of the month.  The T-shirts are available for immediate purchase.

(When you get your T-shirt, you'll notice that the word "proprietary" is a bit fuzzy - just as you'd expect.)

I want to wear one of these at COFES! I know it will mean dressing down a bit, but I am a journalist and everybody in the industry expects journalists to dress down!
